Robert G. Young, 91, and his wife, Abbie L. Young, 89, of Johnson City passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012 at their residence following a fire in their home. Mr.Young was a native of Sevier Co., and a son of the late James H. and Frances Cagle Young. He was also preceded by 12 Siblings. He had lived in Johnson City for 57 years. He had served in the U. S. Army during WW II and was stationed with the 820th Station Hospital. He had also served as a Deacon at Clark Street Baptist Church where he was also a member. He retired from the V. A. Hospital . He also retired from Big Lots. Mrs. Young was a native of White Pine and had lived in Johnson City for 57 years. She was a daughter of the late Garl and Maggie Knight Darenbush. She was also preceded in death by one sister and one brother. She was a member of the Clark Street Baptist Church and retired from the Johnson City Medical Center. Survivors of Mr. Young and Mrs. Young include; one daughter, Carolyn Faye Young of Meadowview, VA; one son, R. G. Young, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Johnson City; two brothers, Frank Young of FL and Raymond Young of TN; two Grandsons, Eric Miller and his wife Leanne of Ft. Sill, OK and Bob Young, III and his wife Felishea of Johnson City; three Great grandchildren, Destyne Young, Mylee Young and Brandon Young; several nieces, nephews and in laws. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 pm Thursday, March 22, 2012 from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Joe Beaver will officiate. Burial services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday at the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8:00 pm on Thursday.
