Adelaide Ada Muller Erwin

Adelaide ?Ada' Muller Erwin, 92, Cornerstone Village in Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Germany, and had been a resident of Johnson City since 1948, where she came as a war bride after escaping from Poland in 1945. Mrs. Erwin was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Angela Kaschytza Muller. Mrs. Erwin was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church since 1950. Mrs. Erwin was a member of the Council of Catholic Women, the Rosary Altar Society, CCW, Adoration Chapel, and had been a member of the choir from 1950 until 2005. She was an American Red Cross volunteer at Mountain Home VA Hospital and North Side Hospital from 1976 until 2002. Mrs. Erwin was employed by the Red Cross from 1986-2000 as a caseworker in Service to Military Families. Mrs. Erwin was an honorary life member of the Tennessee Parent Teachers Association, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, charter member of the Johnson City Boys Club Auxiliary, and a twenty-two year volunteer for Johnson City Senior Citizens? Meals on Wheels program. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest W. Erwin, and one brother, Frank Muller. Survivors include: one son, Christopher David Erwin of Myrtle Beach, SC; four daughters, Angela V. Kromer of Austria, Barbara Dier of Greeneville, Debbie Brisson of Johnson City, and Julie Pickle of Chuckey; one brother, Leo Muller, and his wife Margaret, of Germany; sister-in-law, Steffi Muller of Germany; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews. The family of Adelaide Erwin will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, November 3, 2017 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Marys Catholic Church with Father Peter Iorio officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross, 315 N. State of Franklin Rd., Johnson City, TN 37604 or Salesian Missions at https://www.salesianmissions.org/give.
