With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Agnes Ledbetter, who passed away peacefully due to natural causes on June 1, 2024, at her residence in Johnson City, Tennessee. Born on May 2, 1931, Agnes was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, deeply devoted to her family.


Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Grace Waterson; her husband, Harry Broyles Ledbetter; two brothers, Mack Waterson, Jr. and M.D. Waterson; a sister, Anna Grace Huff; and a daughter, Ida Sue Estep.


She is survived by her son, Franklin Douglas "Doug" Ledbetter and his wife Donna; her daughter, Cathy Ann Wells and her husband Sam; six grandchildren, Douglas Ledbetter, Jason Green, Amber Burke, Clint Estep, Chase Estep and Nathan Mottern; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Syble Herzog and Eulave McMahan; as well as several nieces and nephews.


The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agnes' great-granddaughter, Averie Mottern, for her devoted care during her final year.
