Alan C. Pete Starnes

Alan C. 'Pete' 'Turtleman' Starnes, 74, of Sale Creek, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at his home. He was a member of Sale Creek First Baptist Church. He retired from Asbestos Workers Union Local 46. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Hildred Starnes. He is survived by his children, Larry Starnes, Tony (Becky) Starnes, Teresa Bond, Lisa Green, Dale (Tina) Starnes, Derrick Starnes; sister, Lib Sims; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. The family of Mr. Starnes will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Richard Bawgus will officiate.
