Mrs. Alice Chatman, 80, of Johnson City, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015, in Christian Care Center, Johnson City. Mrs. Chatman was a native of Holden, MA and lived all over the country before settling in Johnson City in 1968. She was a veteran of the US Army. After serving in the Army, Alice was a homemaker. Her mother, Mary Barrus, and brother, David Lewis, preceded her in death. Survivors include: her husband of fifty-five years, James Ralph Chatman; daughter, Sherry Lynn Hemphill; two sons, Mark Allen Chatman and John Paul Chatman; sister, Mary Theresa Norton; seven grandchildren, Josh, Jamie, Chris, Casey, Jared, Jacob, and Jordan; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Mrs. Alice Chatman will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, June 18, 2015, in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8 PM with Rev. James Cambron officiating. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Friday, in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
