Alice Kathryn Shelton

August 30, 1966 — February 28, 2010

Alice K. Shelton, 43, of 927 Lake Drive, Johnson City died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at her residence. She was a native of Jonesborough and a daughter of Alan W. and Judith Lyle Shelton. Alice graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Biology and Physical Education from ETSU. She attended ETSU graduate school studying Exercise Physiology and was within six hours of earning a Masters Degree. Alice loved her family, her friends, her dogs, the UT Lady Vols, and was a Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Nascar fan. She was very involved in the Human Rights Campaign and the Lucky Star Cavalier Rescue. Alice was a member of the Jonesborough United Methodist Church. Alice was a driver for the United Parcel Service and was much loved by her customers. She is preceded in death by: her Paternal grandparents, Oscar and Violet Shelton; and her Maternal grandparents, Gordon and Peggy Lyle. Survivors other than her parents include: her partner, Theresa Sells of the home; one sister, Sally and husband Tom Johnson of Piney Flats; a beloved niece, Lilly Minton of Piney Flats; a stepson, Joshua Stephen Konop of Jonesborough; a step daughter, Chelsea Curtis of Johnson City; several aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of friends and her beloved dogs also survive. A Memorial Service for Alice K. Shelton will be conducted at 7 PM Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Joey Manis and Rev. Ken LaDuke will officiate. The family will receive friends at the residence of her parents, at 624 E. Main Street, Jonesborough, TN or at the residence of Judy Stamper, 1436 Piedmont Street, Johnson City. To those who desire, memorials may be sent to the Washington County Humane Society, P.O.
