Allen N. Palmer

Allen N. Palmer, age 82, of Kingsport, passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 in the Johnson City Medical Center after a short illness. His survivors include his loving wife of sixty-two years, Jean Palmer; his daughter, Marie Carter and her husband Howard of Wilkesboro, NC; his daughter-in-law, Theresa Palmer of Bakersfield, CA; and three grandchildren, Stephanie Carter Adkins of Johnson City, TN, Suzanne Carter of Houston, TX and Scott Carter of Asheboro, NC. He was preceded in death by his son, David Palmer. Dr. Palmer practiced dentistry in Kingsport for nearly 40 years. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He loved boating and spent much of his retirement years sailing. He was a member of the Holston Valley Unitarian Universalist Church. A memorial service for Dr. Allen N. Palmer will be conducted at 3:30 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Holston Valley Unitarian Church.
