Allen W. Dr. Campbell

Dr. Allen W. Campbell, 86, of Johnson City, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Allen was the son of the late Charles and Margaret Mercer Campbell. He retired from Tennessee Motor Company. He held a Doctor of Divinity degree from Bethel Bible College. He pastored at Biltmore Baptist, Elizabethton, and Knob Creek Church of Brethren, Johnson City. He did pulpit supply at a number of churches. Allen was a man of humor and always enjoyed sharing a clean joke and writing poetry about his friends. He was a handyman that could work with extended patience. In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Edgar and Cora Barlow; aunt, Louise Chandler; in-laws, Jessie and Gernie Oaks; and brother-in-law, Worley Weems. Survivors include: his wife of 61 years, Marjorie; sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Weems and Gene Jackson; two nieces, Erin Weems and Valarie LoBue; one nephew, Sky Collins; two great nieces, Lelia Collins and Jennifer LoBue; and one special pet, Harley. The family of Dr. Allen W. Campbell will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Morris-Baker. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with his life long friend and ?brother', Dr. Edward J. Young, and special friend Rev. Kenneth Kyker officiating. His special friends J.C. Milhorn and Gil Moody will provide special music. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10:30 AM Friday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10 AM Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
