Alva Jean Kilby

Alva Jean Kilby, 70, of Johnson City, died Monday, December 17, 2018 at The Waters of Johnson City. She was a native of Greeneville, daughter of the late Thomas James and Mary Lydia Lawson Hamblen. Alva was a retired Workers Compensation Administrator for Appalachian Orthopedics. She was a member of First Christian Church of Johnson City. In addition to her parents, her husband Cecil Vernon Kilby and a son Thomas James Kilby had preceded her in death. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Janet ?Bonnie' Hutchens and Frank; her step-daughter, Mary Ann McConnell; a sister, Nila Fugate; a grandson, Wesley McConnell; two nephews, David Fugate and Glenn Fugate. Alva is to be cremated and a private interment is to be conducted. She is to be laid to rest next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Alva Kilby to the Washington County-Johnson City Animal Shelter.
