Anna “Mae” Allen, 96, of Johnson City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 17, 2025, at her home.
Mae was born March 10, 1929, in Johnson County, Tennessee, to the late Robert and Edna Morefield.
She was a faithful Christian woman who read her bible every day. She was a long-time, dedicated member of Clifton View Baptist Church. She was a wonderful homemaker and a very special mom and mamaw. She enjoyed yard sales, word searches, quilting, and she made excellent soup beans. Most of all, she loved playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Lucille Nelson, Thelma Maines, Mildred Courtner, and Bernice Wilkinson; and two brothers, R.L. Morefield and Kenny Morefield.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Gary (Sherry) Allen, Sr., Donnie (Terri) Allen, and Denny (Becky) Allen; grandchildren, Robert (Tina) Allen, Bryan (Amanda) Allen, Gary Lee (Mirissa) Allen, Cary (Brittany) Allen, Scott (Keisha) Allen, Bill (Kimberly) Turbyfill, and Ronnie (Kayla) Frazier; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; sister, Jennie Arnold; and many nieces and nephews.
Mae’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, March 20, at Monte Vista Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m., under the direction of Rev. Vincent Shemwell.
