Mrs. Anna Smith, 82, 146 Shenandoah Drive, Johnson City died Wednesday March 18, 2009 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Earl Walters and Hazel Hopper Curl. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ray M. Jones; her second husband, Thomas L. Smith; one half brother, Jimmy Curl. Mrs. Smith was a retired register nurse. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Martha Jones of Johnson City; two sons, Tom Jones and his wife Deborah of Anchorage, Alaska and Ed Jones of Johnson City; three brothers, Dr. Phil Walters and his wife Jean of Johnson City, Don Walters and his wife Sarah of Johnson City and David Walters of Johnson City; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren. The funeral service for Mrs. Anna Smith will be conducted at 8 PM Saturday March 21, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Mike Pelham and Rev. Randy Weems will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 1 PM Sunday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker at 12:30 PM Sunday to go in procession. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Grace Baptist Church, 612 Collins Drive, Johnson City Tn. 37601.
