Anthony "Tony" Scott Cox

Anthony “Tony” Scott Cox, age 59, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed on Tuesday, December 9, 2020, following a brief illness.

Tony was born on July 23, 1961 in Johnson City.

Tony served the Tri-Cities for 30 years as a paramedic. He spent most of his career with Bristol Life Saving Crew. He was the Vice President for District 9 of the Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads for Virginia and Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Violet and Bill Couch and his maternal grandparents, Pansy and Roy Barlow.

Those left to cherish Tony’s memory include his wife of ten years, CJ Cox; children, Brandon (and wife, Bethany) Cox, Austin Cox, and Christian Cox; grandchildren, Jordan Cox and Madison Puckett; siblings, Regina (and husband, Dwight) Proffit, Angie (and husband, Chris) Roberts, Gary Couch (and Heidi), Trish (and husband, Tommy) Bradley, Herschel Cox, and Elizabeth Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Please come prepared to wear a mask.
