Arch Crawford Babb

September 9, 1934 — April 19, 2008

Arch Crawford 'Andy'? Babb, 73, 128 Horseshoe Drive, Johnson City, took his heavenly flight on Saturday, April 19th at 12:30 pm. He was surrounded by his family as he slipped away into eternal rest with Jesus Christ. Arch was a retired Millwright who had given several years of service to the Fluor Daniel Corporation. He was and avid coon hunter and trout fisherman. He enjoyed the company of his family and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Known in his community as the 'Lawn Mower Man'? he kept the machinery in his neighborhood running. Arch was the son of the late Alfred C. Babb and the late Rettie Ann Medlin Babb. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Otis, Guy, Marshall, Alfred, Jr., Carson, and Freddie Babb and one stepbrother, David Head. He is survived by his wife, Anna Lee Babb of the home, two sons, Greg and wife, Misty Babb, Mark and wife, Kristen Babb both of Johnson City, and one daughter, Elaine Bogart and husband Doug of Johnson City, brothers and sisters, Cecil and wife, Nola, Dayton and wife, Jo, Marvin and wife Helen, Gladys and late husband, Frank, Lena and late husband, Steve, Verna Gay Fulwiler and husband, Bobby, and Wanda Presnell, one step- brother, Jimmy Head, seven grandchildren, Chad, Mindy, Kimberly, Brittney, Andy, Nicki and Lindsey, one great grandchild, Jackson, and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Babb will be held at 8 pm Monday, April 21, 2008 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Pastor Greg Wagner will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 am and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Babb, Ron Babb, David Babb, Kevin Grindstaff, Brian Grindstaff and Chad Bogart. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff of the Johnson City Medical Center Cancer Treatment Center and the Medical Center Hospice.
