Archie Lee Miller

Mr. Archie Lee Miller, 70, 121 Foster Court, Johnson City died Monday, August 17, 2009 at his residence. He was a Christian and a lifelong philosopher. Mr. Miller was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. He is the son of Hazel Holsclaw Miller and the late Charles E. Miller. In addition to his father he was also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Miller; one great granddaughter, Callie Harvey. Mr. Miller was a former employee of Bolton Concrete Products. Survivors other than his mother include: his wife of 48 years, Juanita Miller of the home; two sons, Clyde Miller and Michael Miller, both of Johnson City; two daughters, Julie Thornton and her husband Bruce of Chuckey, TN and Tammy Hodges and her husband Steve of Johnson City; two brothers, Clyde Miller and his wife Phyllis of Hampton and Steve Miller and his wife Becky of Johnson City; two sisters, Elizabeth Casey and her husband Scotty of Hampton and Kathy Miller of Johnson City; nine grandchildren, Robert, Traci, Christopher, Stephen, Jessica, Nikki, Darren, Morgan and Brandon; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial contributions may be sent to the organization that was close to Archies heart, Rebos Inc., 213 East Maple Street, Johnson City, Tn. 37604. The funeral service for Archie Lee Miller will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, August 20, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. The committal service will be conducted at 2 PM Friday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Dr. Delno Brown will officiate. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral chapel by 1:15 PM Friday to go in procession. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday prior to the service.
