Arthur Lonnie Painter, 66, 1411 W. Main Street, Jonesborough died Sunday, April 12, 2009 at the Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Mr. Painter was a native of Johnson City and was a son of the late Earl Oscar Painter and Thelma McCurry Painter of Jonesborough. Mr. Painter was a graduate of the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in 1970 and also had a Bachelors Degree from U.T. in Forestry Service. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving with the 101 Airborne Division. Mr. Painter was preceded in death by his father and one son, Micah Painter in 1998. Survivors other then his mother include: two daughters, Amy Muse of Gray and Jenni L. Painter of Jonesborough; one son, Jason Wayne Painter of Gray; his Ex-Wife, Candy Painter Mendo of Gray; two grandchildren, Shanae Rogers and Jacob Painter of Gray. The funeral service for Arthur Lonnie Painter will be conducted at 8 PM Friday, April 17, 2009 in the Boone Trail Baptist Church, 1985 Carroll Creek Road, Johnson City. Rev. Phillip Adcock will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Saturday in the Roselawn Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at Morris-Baker Saturday at 9:30 AM to go in procession. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by the American Legion Post # 3 and Post # 265 of Kingsport and members of the Tennessee National Guard. Active pallbearers Jason Painter, Jacob Painter, David Brown, Omar Hinkle, David Good, Chris Muse, Mike Ross and Boogie. The family will receive friends at Boone Trail Baptist Church on Friday from 6 to 8 PM prior to the service.
