Arzella Ruth Constable, 72, died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Appalachian Christian Village. She was a native of Washington County and a longtime member of the Watauga and Johnson City communities. Mrs. Constable was a daughter of the late William Edward and Hazel Elizabeth Baird Simpson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arville B. Constable, Sr. in 1984, one son Ronald L. Constable in 1981 and two sisters, Sarah Greenwell and Claudia Moffitt. Mrs. Constable was a loving wife and mother and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include three sons, Dusty Constable and his wife Angela, Johnson City, Wayne Constable, War, WV and Jeffrey Constable and his companion, Gayla Combs, Elizabethton; one stepson, Butch Constable; three sisters, Mae Painter, Limestone, Edna Tester, Eizabethton and Norma Cox, Piney Flats, three brothers, Ronald Simpson, Jonesborough, Glen Simpson, Watauga and Larry Simpson, Watauga; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mrs. Constable will be conducted at 8 pm Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Charles Guinn and Reverend Roy Simpson will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, May20, 2009 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 12:30 pm and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Combs, Michael Greenwell, William Painter, Larry Simpson Jr., Travis Constable and Perry Cox, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of a Dusty and Angela Constable, 1611 Ferrell Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601.
