Ava Boone Reese

Ava Boone Reese, 92, 1903 E. Main Street, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Reese was a native of Waynesville, NC and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Monte and Estelle McMahan Boone and was a fifth generation descendent of Daniel Boone. Her husband, Bill E. Reese, Sr., two daughters, Diane Reese and Sherry Reese and two sons, Ricky Reese and Thomas Reese, preceded Mrs. Reese in death. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Reese leaves seven sons, Bill Ed Reese, Jr., Austin TX, Francis C. Reese, Augusta, GA, Roy M. Reese, Johnson City, Jerry D. Reese, Catawba, NC, Cecil E. Reese, Johnson City, Raymond A. Reese, Johnson City and Terry K. Reese, Jonesborough; fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; one great grandchild. Funeral services for Mrs. Reese will be conducted at 10 am Saturday, August 2, 2008 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Reverend Claude Babb will officiate. Graveside services will follow in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Her sons will serve as pallbearers and her grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
