Avis 'Louise'? Witt Widener, 82, who resided at Four Oaks Nursing Home, Jonesborough, died Sunday, June 6, 2010. She was a native of Bridgeport, Alabama, daughter of the late Adolphis Gehagin and Bertha Mae Norman Witt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 2000, Dan Widener, a brother, George Witt; two sisters, Bonnie W. Roberts and Betty F. Witt. Louise had lived in the Johnson City area since 1941. She was a former employee of White City Laundry and Johnson City Laundry. She was a Free Will Baptist. Survivors include: her sister, Clercie 'Kate'? Wood of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service is scheduled for: Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Washington County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until time to leave in procession to the cemetery at 1:30 p.m. from the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be: Johnny Wood, Dennis Roberts, Chuck Harris, Berlin Harris, Jr. and Paul Harris. Conducting the graveside service will be: Major Gary Elliott of the Salvation Army. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Salvation Army, Johnson City Corps, P. O. Box 1715, Johnson City, TN 37605.
