Barbara Anne Summers, 70, of Johnson City, died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at her home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and the daughter of the late Robert Woodrow and Doris Taylor Summers. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, who touched many, many lives with her thoughtfulness and generosity. She had a lifetime love and involvement with her family business, Summers-Taylor, Inc., from working as a secretary when she was a teenager to serving on the Board of Directors as an adult. Barbara was an expert knitter and gardener who loved planning parties, sitting on her back porch and 'adopting' anyone who needed it. In the final chapter of her life, Barbara discovered life on the farm with her husband of 12 years, Don Squibb. Together, they raised donkeys, travelled the world and enjoyed life to its fullest. Barbara will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Barbara is survived by: her husband Don Squibb, of the home; one son, Jim Richardson, and his wife Kimberly, Johnson City; one daughter, Deborah Richardson Noe, and her husband Paul, Knoxville; one brother, Robert 'Rab'? Taylor Summers, and his wife Nita, Johnson City; three stepchildren, Sharon Squibb, Jonesborough, Brad Squibb, and his wife Bonnie, Oak Ridge, and David Squibb, Boston, MA; four grandchildren, Lauren and Jamie Richardson, both of Johnson City, and Matthew and Sarah Noe, both of Knoxville; one nephew, Grant Summers, Johnson City; one niece, Lena Summers Benisch, and her husband John, Golden, CO; and special friends of the family, Renee Boswell Bready, Tyrone, GA, and Mary Shade, Jonesborough.
