Barbara Bobbie Cole

Mrs. Barbara 'Bobbie' Cole, 84, of Johnson City, passed away after a lengthy illness Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in the Lakebridge Health Care Center. Bobbie was a lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Mattie and Ernest Williams. Bobbie graduated from Science Hill High School. She began her working career as a legal secretary and worked for various prominent Johnson City attorneys. After her secretarial career she became a full-time homemaker where she lovingly cared for her daughter Cindy and husband Bill during their own lengthy illnesses. Bobbie gave of herself to her family whatever they needed and was proud of her family. This passion for taking care of people carried over to others in her community as well. She was part of the Johnson City National Little League Ladies Auxiliary-where she helped to raise money for the league. Bobbie attended both the Keystone Presbyterian Church as well as the Otterbein United Methodist Church in later years. In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by one daughter, Cindy Cole, her husband, Bill Cole, and her step-mother, Thelma Williams. She is survived by her son, Darrel Cole; one brother Ernest 'Lucky' Williams and his wife Barbara; one grandson, Joshua Cole; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of long-time friends. The family of Mrs. Barbara 'Bobbie' Cole will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, October 23, 2015 at Morris Baker with both Mr. Chad Williams and Jerry Williams officiating. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone is requested to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 PM Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Association.
