Barbara E. McKinney, 74, of 115 Greenbrier Road, Johnson City, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, daughter of the late Silas and Lizzie Woods Boggs. Barbara was a homemaker and member of the Gods House Full Gospel Church. She had worked at several places during her youth: N. America Rayon, Seavers Bakery, Mays Brothers Tools and Leon Ferenbach. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and sisters. Survivors include: four sons and three daughters-in-law, Roman and Linda Lee McKinney, Jr. of Johnson City, Earl William and Vickie Marlene McKinney of Johnson City, Lee Roy and Barbara A. McKinney of Jonesborough and Norman McKinney of Greeneville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rose E. and Pastor Jerry Davis of Jonesborough, Mary Helen Gunn of Johnson City, Rebecca K. and Johnny Patterson of Hampton; two sisters, Shirley Lawson of Dryden, VA and Renee Crawford of Pennington Gap, VA; twenty one grandchildren and thirty seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, March 5, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Pastor Jerry Davis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service is scheduled for Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Bolling Cemetery, Roan Mt. Active pallbearers will be: Norman, Jacob, Lee and Kenneth McKinney, David Mitchell and Brandon Laws. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery on Saturday.
