Mrs. Barbara Joyce 'Jo'? Francis, age 63, of Johnson City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 15, 2013. She was a native of Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Carter and Ellen J. Payne Hilton. Mrs. Francis was of the Apostolic faith. She was a loving wife and mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and 'favorite aunt'?. She felt the light of her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a homemaker; Jo also loved Christmas, snow and going to Dollywood and the Dixie Stampede. She loved to work in her garden which she named Hannahs garden. She will be missed and loved by everyone. In addition to her parents, three brothers, Bobby, Jim Bill and Jackie Hilton, a sister, Gail Campbell, an infant son, Robert Shannon Francis and a granddaughter, Bobbi Jo Francis, preceded her in death. Survivors include her loving husband of forty-seven years, Harry R. 'Bobby'? Francis of the home, a son and daughter-in-law, Maverick S. and Leeanne Francis of Johnson City; three daughters, Christall 'Shayne'? Francis of Johnson City, Joi Francis of Boones Creek and Venus Smith of Elizabethton; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Richard and Nancy Hilton, Tommy Hilton, Ken and June Hilton and Dale Hilton, all of Johnson City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Janet and Walt Rodifer of Jonesborough, Sharon Campbell of Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Cameron (and Amy), Jeremiah (and Danni), Hannah, Michael, Mason and Maddox; two great grandchildren, Israel and Kennedy who loved her very much; a special nephew, Travis Mullins and special niece, Heather LeBlanc, several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Barbara Joyce 'Jo'? Francis will be conducted at 7:00 PM Monday, March 18, 2013 in the Morris Baker South Chapel. Rev. Mickey Bowman will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 1 PM Tuesday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 12:15 PM Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday prior to the service.
