Barbara Lois Smith, 87, of Johnson City, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at her residence. She was a native of Washington County, daughter of the late Lloyd and Bonnie Elliott Martin. Barbara was a retired machine operator for the Leon Fehrenbach Company. She was baptized at the Antioch Baptist Church and had attended the Keystone Free Will Baptist Church until her health prevented her from walking to services. Barbara was lovingly referred to as ?Granny' by most who knew her for the last thirty years. She loved her flowers and flower gardens and visiting with her neighbors. Barbara enjoyed her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, her brother, Harold Gene Martin; three sisters, Mary Wilson, Mildred Walker and Shirley Cox; a son, Randal Smith all preceded her in death. Survivors include; her daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and James Hendley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Margaret Gardner and Kevin and Theresa Smith; grandchildren, Deanna Long, Leah Gardner, Courtney Setler and Kristy Smith; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, March 26, 2018 at Monte Vista Memorial Park under the direction of Minister Michael Koruschak. Family and friends should assemble at the cemetery by 12:45 pm. The family would like to offer special thanks to: Tammy Lewis, Mary Anderson and their families; also the Amedisys Hospice Staff the their love and care.
