Barney L. Trivett

Barney L. Trivett, 86, 2414 Charles Street, Johnson City, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 in the Lakebridge Health Care Center. Mr. Trivett was a native of Avery County, North Carolina who had lived in Johnson City since 1940. He was the son of the late Ora Trivett Estep. In addition to his mother he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lena Trivett in 1990; one sister, Annalee Driscoll; one brother, Joe Estep. Mr. Trivett worked in construction and was a member of the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater. Survivors include: two sisters, Ruth L. Ollinger of Johnson City and Jerry Stout of Pogie Hollow, North Carolina; two brothers, Jim Estep of Kentucky and Ronald Estep of New York; one uncle, Miles Trivett; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Barney L. Trivett will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday, July 27, 2008 in the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Paul Crowe will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM Monday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral chapel at 12:15 PM Monday to go in procession. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The VFW Post # 3382 and the Tennessee National Guard of Kingsport will accord military honors. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 to 8 PM Sunday prior to the service.
