Beatrice Burleson Young

June 21, 1917 — July 9, 2012

Beatrice Burleson Young, 95, of Gray, went to be with her Savior on Monday, July 9, 2012. She was a native of Bakersville, NC but had been a resident of Johnson City since she was a young child and was a daughter of the late Arthur David Burleson, Sr. and Jane C. Burleson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Young in 1989. Also preceding her were one son, Richard Wayne Blevins, one daughter, Glenda Jean Blevins, one grand daughter Stephanie Jo Jenkins, two sisters, Viola Woods and a young sister, Opal Burleson, two brothers, A. D. Burleson, Jr and an infant brother, Frank Burleson. Mrs. Young was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Johnson City. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Jenkins of Gray, Janice Mosier and her husband Joe of Sulphur Springs and Brenda Raines and her husband Don of Clintwood,VA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Monika, Teresa, Vicki, Debbie, Glenda, Bryan, Donna and Denise; ten great grandchildren, Ethan, Christian, Ava, Katie, Hannah, Samantha, Patrick, Derek, Skylar and Brandon; two great great grandchildren, a special niece, Linda Oakes, two nephews, Mike and Johnny Burleson. Graveside services will be conducted from Roselawn Memory Gardens at 2:30 pm Thursday, July 12, 2012. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 pm on Thursday. Online condolences may be sent to the family via www.morrisbaker.com.
