'Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.'? Psalm 116:15 Bernice Leach Huffine, 92, of Jonesborough, died Thursday, March 13, 2014 in Johnson City Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and a daughter of the late Ralph William Leach and Pearl Street Leach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Huffine, Jr., and two brothers, Howard Leach and Therman Leach. Mrs. Huffine retired as a supervisor from East Tenn Mills. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Huffine trusted Jesus as her savior at an early age and served Him faithfully at Antioch Baptist Church, where she was a member. She served as Sunday School teacher for over 55 years and was a member of the Young at Heart Senior Adults. She also served on various committees. Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Jim Krell and Dorothy and David Keys, all of Jonesborough; grandchildren, Krystal Johnson and her husband Tommy, Jonesborough, Marty Keys and his wife Kara, Jonesborough, Allen Krell and his wife Penny, Huntsville, AL, and Anthony Krell and his wife Heather, Prattville, AL; eight great grandchildren, Andrew and Erin Keys, T, Tell, and Ty Johnson, Kelly, Daniel, and Ashlyn Krell; one sister, Berneda Elliott, Waldorf, MD; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Mrs. Bernice Huffine will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Antioch Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM Sunday at the church. Rev. Ken Kyker and Rev. Pete Tackett will officiate. The committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Monday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be: Marty Keys, Allen Krell, Anthony Krell, Daniel Krell, Tommy Johnson, and Ronnie Fine. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Stevens, Jim Carder, Wayne Jones, Bobby Harrell, Fred Collins, Rowland Barker, Danny Clark, and Dwight Harrell. Minister, family, and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker Funeral Home by 10:30 AM Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 1014 Antioch Road, Johnson City, TN 37604.
