Bertha Ellen Trent

Bertha E. Trent, 92, formerly of 880 Smalling Road, Johnson City went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from the Asbury Place. Mrs. Trent was a native of Carter County and had lived all of her life in Carter and Washington Counties. She was a daughter of the late Henry and Lilly Feathers Blevins Mrs. Trent was a very loving mother and friend. She was a giver to all with her flowers, vegetables from her garden and her love. She loved to see her family come together, to be able to prepare a meal for them to share and enjoy their love and fellowship. Mrs. Trent also loved her church, Sinking Creek Baptist Church, her wonderful church family and most of all the love she had for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Howard C. Trent in August of 2007; one son, Allen Trent; four brothers, Lawrence Blevins, K.C. Blevins, Wilford Blevins, and Denver Blevins; and one sister, Zelmarie Wyatt. Survivors include: one daughter, Lawanda and husband Danny Depew of Gray; two sons, Sherrill and wife Carolyn Trent of Gray , Larry and wife Linda Trent of Bowmantown; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Bertha E. Trent will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, October 22, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Reece Harris will officiate. The service of entombment will be conducted at 10 AM Friday in the chapel mausoleum at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the cemetery by 10AM. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Trents grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6 to 8 PM Thursday prior to the service. The family express their appreciation to the nursing staff at Asbury Place for their loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Trent.
