Bessie Marie Oliver

Bessie Marie Oliver, 90, Johnson City, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Appalachian Christian Village. Mrs. Oliver was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Phoebe Bennett Hill and was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie James Oliver, three brothers, George D. Hill, Ernie Hill and Fred Hill. Mrs. Oliver was a member of Central Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Billy Joe Oliver, Jonesborough, Robert Oliver, Blountville; three brothers, Bob Hill and Jimmy Hill both of Johnson City and Raymond Hill, Snyder, OK; two sisters, Hattie Sparks Hill and Margaret Peters Hill both of Johnson City and four grandchildren, Cheryl Rouse, Kingston, TN, Joey Oliver and Wayne Oliver both of Jonesborough and Vic Oliver, Johnson City. A funeral service for Mrs. Oliver will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, March 23, 2006 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Mr. Tim Hall, minister, will officiate. The family will receive guests from 6 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Central Church of Christ, Building Fund, 2722 E. Oakland Ave., Johnson City, TN 37601.
