Mrs. Bessie Pearl Puckett Marshall, 77, Elde Reed Haus, Limestone, formerly of Johnson City, passed away Saturday December 26, 2009 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Marshall was a native of Watauga who had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late John Hutton Puckett and Nannie Jane Fullen Puckett. In addition to her parents her husband, Billy Joe Marshall; two brothers, Andy 'Bill'? Puckett and Paul G. Puckett also preceded her in death. Mrs. Marshall worked for Inter Mountain Telephone Company for sixteen years and retired from Blue Ridge Community Hospital in Spruce Pine, North Carolina. She was a member of the East Unaka Christian Church. Survivors include: three sisters, Catherine Honeycutt of Elizabethton, Mary Triplett of Mountain City and Judy Headrick of Soddy Daisy; one brother, Eugene Puckett of Burlington, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Margaret Puckett; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Jewel Riffle. The funeral service for Mrs. Bessie Pearl Puckett Marshall will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. Wayne Emery will officiate. The Harvey family will provide music. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral by 10:15 AM Wednesday to go in procession. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
