Betty Ann Mcgee

September 19, 1946 — December 21, 2015

Betty Ann McGee, 69, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a Unicoi County native and daughter of the late Dana Harmon and Emily Hardin Rice. She attended Bowmantown Elementary School and Sulphur Springs High School. She later obtained her GED from Daniel Boone High School. Ms. McGee worked for many years as a sewing machine operator at Watauga Apparel and HPH Apparel. She occasionally attended Buffalo Valley Free Will Baptist Church. Ms. McGee was a deeply loving and spiritual person who was blessed with a musical talent. She had a love for singing and playing the guitar. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: five sisters, Bobby Deloach, Rosalee McGee, Mae Crane, Ruby Osborne, and Wanda McGee; and four brothers, Manley, Carroll ?Bill', Jessie and Paul Rice. Survivors include: two sons, Stacey Allen McGee, of Unicoi, and Matthew Shawn McGee, and his wife Lora Marie, of 175 Don Carson Rd., Telford; loving companion of nearly forty years, Edward Fry, Jr.;one granddaughter, Makalia Brook McGee, of Telford; one sister, Florence Thornburg; two brothers, Fletcher and Gerald Rice; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Betty McGee will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:00 AM Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM. Family and friends will go in procession following the funeral service for an 11:00 AM committal service at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
