Betty Elizabeth Smithpeters, 65, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Johnson City and the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Anderson Smithpeters. Betty was full of life. She enjoyed dancing, singing, visiting with her family, spending her time outdoors and shopping at her favorite dollar store. She loved makeup, food, and animals, especially dogs and horses. Above all, she loved her pet monkey, Charlie. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Dawn of Hope for helping Betty live her best life. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by: six brothers, Samuel, Paul, David, Junior, Buddy and James; two grandmothers, Elizabeth and Lona; her aunt Ruby; and her special boyfriend, Arthur. Survivors include: three sisters, Lonie Keever and her husband Bill, Loretta Powell, and her husband Randy, and Mary Potter, and her husband Lloyd; two brothers, Mark Smithpeters and Raymond Smithpeters, and his partner Diane; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family of Betty Smithpeters will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Richard Chapman officiating. A committal service will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
