Betty Kimble Granger, 81, of 616-D Franklin Square Court, Johnson City, died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at her residence. She was a native of Charleston, West Virginia, daughter of the late Carl Spurgeon and Margaret Ellen Hendrickson Kimble. Betty grew up, attended school and was a graduate of Montgomery High School in West Virginia. She also attained her bachelors degree from West Virginia Tech in Montgomery. Betty was a member of Central Baptist Church where she retired as librarian, was a member of the Chancel Choir for many years and was also a member of the Esther Sunday School Class. Survivors include: her husband Dr.George L. Granger of the home, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kim and Brenda Granger of Johnson City, Don T. Granger, of Lexington, Kentucky and Brian G. and Tammra Granger of Charlotte, North Carolina; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Jeff Yates of Kingsport and Linda G. and Mark Eades of Johnson City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lucille Lloyd of Richmond, Virginia and Jean and John Carotenuti of Dallastown, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, John Robert Yates, Amy E. Yates, Meredith L. Eades, Jordan R. Eades, Hannah E. Granger, Chad D. Fraley, Alec G. Granger and Jacqueline C. Granger; nine nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Rev. Bill Warfield and Dr. Ron Murray. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at four. Special music will be provided by Deborah Odom and Ambers Wilson. A committal service will be conducted on Sunday, January 6, 2008 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. Active pallbearers will be her three sons and two sons-in-law, Kim, Don and Brian Granger, Mark Eades and Jeff Yates and close friend, Earl Treadway.
