Betty Hafer

Betty Hafer, 94, formerly of 1401 Merrywood Drive, Johnson City, died Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the Appalchian Christian Village. She was a native of Connellsville, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Frank and Isabelle Ganzemuller Rigger. Betty was a registered nurse and had been the supervisor of central supply for the Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, New York. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Wade Hafer and a daughter Connie Carter. Survivors include: a son, Donald J. Hafer of Johnson City; two daughters, Doris Jean Wunsch of Johnson City and Linda Kirkby of Camillus, NY; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Rev. Michelle Buckles. A committal service will be conducted on Saturday in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens following the service. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2007 at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be: Chad Kirkby, Darryl Kirkby, Dean Wilhoit, George Mitchell, Jimmy Patterson, Fred Boyd and Dave Smith.
