Betty Jo Emmert

Betty Jo Emmert, 69, of Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Betty Jo was born in Erwin and was a daughter of the late George W. and Myrdith Bailey Emmert. She worked as a healthcare giver and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: one son, Paul Elrod; one sister, Patricia Emmert Bowman; and one brother, G. W. 'Bud'? Emmert. Survivors include: two sons, Murphy Tyree and Clifton Peterson; two grandchildren, Christina Rickman and Morgan Peterson; Morgans mom, Tiffany Peterson; two brothers, Tom Emmert (Georgie) and Greg Emmert; three sisters, Barbara Renfro (Wayne), Kathy Franklin (Phil Shipley), and Jennifer Calloway (John); and several nieces and nephews. A private service will be held at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
