Betty Jo Lawson Bj Minton

Mrs. Betty Jo 'BJ'? Lawson Minton, 84, of Johnson City, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Minton was a native of Knoxville, TN. She was the daughter of the late William Andrew and Virtie Bruner Hensley. Mrs. Minton worked for many years at Holiday Inn and the Best Western Motels. Mrs. Minton was a member of the Keystone Freewill Baptist Church. She was also active in the Ladies Auxiliary, the 'Senior Saints' and Young at Heart Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Blaine Minton, one granddaughter, Stephanie Dawn Burbach, four brothers and five sisters. Survivors include: one daughter, Joe Ann Lawson and her husband William Keith Cochran; one brother, Earl Eugene Hensley and several nieces and nephews. The family of Betty Jo 'BJ' Lawson Minton will receive friends from 12 PM to 1:30 PM Saturday, July 5, 2014, in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. The funeral service will follow with Rev. Terry Jones and Rev. Bill Greer officiating. The graveside committal service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
