Betty Joe Elliott

Colossians 3:14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Betty Joe Bryant Elliott, 92, left this world and went to her heavenly home on October 24, 2018. She was a woman of strong faith and looked forward to the eternal life she knew awaited her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, John Edward Elliott; her parents, Ernest and Viola Hodge Bryant; her sisters, Billie Gail Bryant Nave, Jacqueline Bryant Slemp, Margie Bryant Cannon; and her brothers, Ted Bryant and Jerry Bryant. She is survived by her children, Jerrie Elliott Lytton (husband Ken) of Johnson City, Gwen Stout (husband Tony) of Bluff City, Johnny C. Elliott (wife Rose) of Atlanta, GA, and Michael H. Elliott (wife Denise) of Richmond, VA; her brother, Peter Bryant (wife Jeanette) of Garner, NC; her 8 grandchildren, Richard Weddle of Terrell, NC, Wendy Riggs of Loudon, TN, John (Jay) Elliott of Greeneville, TN, Christy Patterson of Cardiff, New South Wales, Australia, Charles Elliott of Washington, DC, Neil Stout of Blountville, TN, Daniel Elliott of Richmond, VA, and Benjamin Elliott of Richmond, VA; and her 12 great-grandchildren, Cooper Riggs, Andrew Stout, Shannon Yerton, Clint Hall, Jonathan Hall, James Elliott, Bryant Elliott, Jon Michael Elliott, Lena Elliott; Elyse Elliott, Rosemary Elliott, and Nathaniel Elliott; and great-great grandson Keldan Yerton. She was a mother extraordinaire whose passion was her family and her faith in God. She was always there for her family. Her love and devotion provided a firm foundation, and the safety and security of a home where her unconditional love was a certainty and where the welcome mat was always out. She was a compassionate and giving person who put the needs of others ahead of her own. She is irreplaceable. She was a member of Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church. She loved reading her bible, engaging in bible studies, and listening to Southern Gospel and traditional hymns. At the request of the deceased, there will be no services at this time. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent in Betty?s memory to Samaritan?s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
