Betty Shropshire

Betty Jane Shropshire, 71, Johnson City, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018, at her residence. Betty was born in Hopewell, VA to the late Rayford and Mary Belle Hanchey. Betty was a minister?s wife and homemaker for many years. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by one brother, Mack Hanchey. Survivors include: her proud husband of 53 years, Hubert Shropshire, of Johnson City; three children, Lynn Shropshire and his wife Margaret, of Wilson, NC, Robin Graybeal and her husband Allen, of Palm Coast, FL, and Collene Powell and her husband Harry, of Virginia Beach, VA; four sisters, Joyce Usher, Bea Matthews, Libby McCluan and Faye McGill; three brothers, Ray, Lee and Earl Hanchey; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to Mountain States Hospice and Johnson City Medical Center for their great care.
