Beulah D. Smith, 63, of Johnson City went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, November 10, 2008 . Mrs. Smith of a native of Johnson City, lived in Carter County and was a daughter of the late Wallace Mays .and Vista Martin Mays. Mrs. Smith was a wonderful Christian lady and had attended the Keystone Free Will Baptist Church for twenty-five years. She was a teachers assistant in the Johnson City School System for nineteen years serving at the Keystone Elementary School and Liberty Bell Junior High School. She is preceded in death by: her parents; and two brothers, Charles Gouge and Carl Mays. Survivors include: her husband of forty-five years, William A. Smith of the home; a daughter, Tracey Smith Oliver of Johnson City; two sons, William Sean Smith and Bryan Todd Smith, both of Johnson City; one brother, Ernest 'Sonny'? Gouge of Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Misha Smith and Hunter Oliver, both of Johnson City and Andy Smith of Gray; several nieces, nephews, cousins; special friends, The Thomason family and her church family from Keystone FWB Church. The funeral service for Beulah D. Smith will be conducted at 7 PM Thursday, November 13, 2008 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Bill Greer will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Thursday in the chapel prior to the service. The family requests that memorial gifts be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Farris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family wish to express their heartfelt appreciation to Caris Healthcare nurses and especially Trish Mayo, to Dr. F. Alan Forebush, MD, to Dr. Kyle Colvett, MD, to the Kidney Transplant Center and to Bob and Tom Jessee
