Beulah Sutphin Godsey, 90, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Four Oaks Health Care Center in Jonesborough. Mrs. Godsey was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Johnson City for many years. She was loved by all who knew her and she loved everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson L and Mary Ann Gibson Sutphin , her husband, James T. Godsey, Sr., and one son, Ralph E. 'Ed'? Godsey. Five sisters, Ola Conner, Trula Green, Gladys Honeycutt, Ellen Godsey and Edna Horton, Four brothers, Norman, Cecil, Claude and Roy Sutphin. Survivors include; one daughter, Mary Ellen Cowan of Gray; five sons, James T. 'Bud'? Godsey, Jr., and David L Godsey both of Joilet, IL, Richard A. Godsey of Johnson City, John C. Godsey and his wife Carol and Michael B. Godsey and his wife Reta all of Jonesborough; 13 Grandchildren; 18 great Grandchildren; 12 great great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Two special sisters in law also survive. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Four Oaks Health Care for their special care of our mom, Beulah. Funeral services will be conducted from the Morris-Baker South Chapel at 8:00 pm Friday, June 3, 2011. Rev. Tony Trott and Rev. Curtis Hurt will officiate. Burial services will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday from the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Friends and Family will serve as pallbearers. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:40 am Saturday for the cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday.
