Beulah Mae Bailey Owens, 90, of Gray died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Keokee, Virginia and daughter of the late Earl Bailey and Ima Daisy Bailey Bledsoe. Beulah graduated from St. Charles High School, St. Charles, VA in 1941. She worked at Auntie Annes in the Mall at Johnson City and Leon-Fehrenbach. Beulah was member of Heritage Baptist Church and also recently attended Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Beulah was preceded in death by: her husband, James K. Owens; daughter, Carole Penix; and infant sister. She is survived by: one daughter, Billie Arnold, Gray; one granddaughter, Scottie Gardner, Kingsport; one great granddaughter, Brandie Bordies and her husband Damien, Gray; one great great granddaughter, Alyssa Bordies, Gray; one sister, Jo Odham, Gray; one brother, C. R. Bailey and his wife Frances, Greenfield, IN; two nieces, Debbie Jennings and her husband Tom, and Sharlene Strahl and her husband Jim; one nephew, Jeff Bailey and his wife Barbara; and several great nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 2013 at 12:30 pm in the South Chapel of Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Crowe will officiate. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:30 pm on Wednesday. A committal service will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens, Pennington Gap, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 3:30 pm Wednesday for those services. Active pallbearers will be: Damien Bordies, Lucas Jennings, Matthew Jennings, Thomas Jennings, Tommy Jennings, and Ralph Rollins. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Penix and Roy Penix, Jr.
