Bill J. Artrip of Johnson City passed away Friday, May 15, 2020 after a brief illness.
Bill was born in Clinchco, Virginia in 1932 to Walter and Garnett M. Artrip.
He was preceded in death by his identical twin brother, Bob Artrip, and sisters, Dorothy and Shirley.
He is survived by: his wife of sixty-seven years, Anita; three children, Myra Schill, Karen Pence and Ken Artrip; younger brother, Harry Artrip; four grandchildren, Stamper Schill, Charlie Schill, Duncan Pence and Angus Pence; and several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Bill was in the insurance business for many years with Speed, Taylor and Artrip. Afterwards, he worked with Tim Belisle and Marvin Eichorn as an insurance consultant for Ballad Health.
He was a Korean War veteran, serving with the Air Force in Misawa, Japan.
Due to the pandemic, Bill will be laid to rest following private graveside services conducted by special friend and neighbor, Gerald Malcolm. Following the service, a recording of the service will be posted to morrisbaker.com.
