Billie Jewell Combs

Billie J. Combs, 89, of Johnson City, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Cornerstone Village.
Billie was born in Harlan, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William Johnson and Georgia Browning Jones.
She was a lifelong Christian.
Billie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. She enjoyed spending time outdoors tending the garden and doing yard work. Crossword puzzles filled her time in recent years, and in the past she had crocheted extensively.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband of 40 years, Sam Combs, who passed in 1990; a daughter, Robin Elaine Combs; six siblings, Beryl Jones, Darrel Jones, Marvin Jones, Marilyn Brewer, Conred Jones, and Larry Jones; and one great grandchild, Autumn Combs.
Survivors include: three children, Lana Combs Smith, Sammy Combs and his wife Kay, Mark Combs and his wife Carol; two siblings, Linda Jones Sands and Leon Jones; six grandchildren, Jesse Smith, Bryan Combs, Brandon Combs and Wife Terra, Allison Pollard, Anthony Combs, Laura Combs and husband Keyshun; thirteen greatgrandchildren; five great-greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many well-loved friends.
The family of Billie Combs will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, December 2, 2019, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor David Shorter with special music provided by Queenie Wheeler. A committal will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park at 3:00 PM.
Grandsons and family will act as pallbearers.
