Mr. Billy ?Bill' Hoilman, 84, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 in Lakebridge Health Care Center. Bill was born on December 16, 1930 in Minneapolis, NC, a son of the late Will Hoilman and Florence Buchannan Hoilman. He served in the US Army from 1950 to 1953, then the US Air Force from 1954 to 1962. Bill retired from the City of Johnson City as Supervisor of Second Shift in the Motor Transport Division and was often referred to as ?Uncle Bill.' He was a member of the ?Y' Freewill Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by: three brothers, Paul, Dan, and James Hoilman; and one sister, Nellie Mae Hoilman. Bill is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Mary Sanders Hoilman, of the home; sons, James ?Doyle' Hoilman, of Elizabethton, Michael Hoilman and wife Crystal, of South Carolina, and Billy Hoilman, of Johnson City; daughter, Patricia Potter and husband Tim, of Johnson City; special granddaughter who is like a daughter, Jami Hoilman, of Johnson City; ten additional grandchildren, James ?Jay' Hoilman and wife Julia, Tonya Shilling and husband Scott, Kristen Hoilman, Kris Hoilman, Ashley Miller and husband Jason, Mariha Hoilman, Chelsie Teaster, Dylan Hoilman, Alex Potter, and Bradley Potter; ten great grandchildren; special family friend, Doug Stanley; one sister, Ida Blake, of Gladewater, TX; and one brother, Fred ?Sonny' Hoilman, of Johnson City. The family of Bill Hoilman will receive friends from 11 am until 12 pm Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in the Morris-Baker Dogwood Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 12 pm Tuesday in the chapel. Rev. Scott Greene and Rev. Dexter Hoilman will officiate. Following the funeral, family and friends will proceed to Washington County Memory Gardens for a 1:15 pm committal service. Pallbearers will be: Dylan Hoilman, James ?Jay' Hoilman, Jason Miller, Bradley Potter, Tim Potter, and Doug Stanley. The Boone Dam VFW Post 4933 will accord military honors.
