Billy Joe Gray

Billy Joe Gray, 74, 291 Pickens Bridge Road, was called to be with the Lord, Monday, September 4, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Gray was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. He was a son of the late Harold H. and Zella Price Gray. His first wife, Margie Whaley Gray in 1993, preceded Mr. Gray in death. He was a former employee of Payne Sausage Company and Auto Zone. Mr. Gray was member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Gerline A. Gray; one son, Joseph H. Gray, Gray; daughter-in-law, Cindy Gray, Gray; grandson, Ryan Gray, Gray; Step-daughter, Karen Pardue, Columbia, SC; step granddaughter, Jessica Pardue, Columbia, SC; two brothers, Wexler Gray and his wife, Betty, Blountville and Paul E. Gray and his wife, Amy, Kingsport and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mr. Gray will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday, September 7, 2006 Mountain View Baptist Church. Reverend Brian Holloway and Reverend James Cambron will officiate. Music will be provided by Rita Taylor. Graveside services will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be selected from church family and friends. Mr. Kenneth Akens will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at the funeral home.
