Billy John Kalogeros

Mr. Billy John Kalogeros, age 85, of Mountain City, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Mr. Kalogeros was a native of Johnson City, Tennessee and had lived most of his life in Denver, Colorado and then in the San Francisco Bay Area. Billy moved back to the Tri-City area in July of 2000. He was the son of the late John Kalogeros and Minnie Music Kalogeros. In addition to his parents, his wife Mary Kalogeros, brothers Gus, George, Sam; sisters Helen and Alexandra, also preceded him in death. Billy retired from Hyatt Corporation after twenty-five years of service in Palo Alto, California before moving back to the Tri-City area and retired again from the State of Tennessee Dept. of Corrections. Dad loved big band and Dixieland music, as well as old westerns. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps in Panama. He is survived by his son, Bill Kalogeros and his wife Jade Bradbury Kalogeros; one brother, Jim Kalogeros and his wife Alexandria, and their children Gary, John, Maria and many other nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life remembrance for Mr. Billy Kalogeros will be conducted at 6 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Peerless Steakhouse, 2531 North Roan Street Johnson City, TN.
