Blen L. Corby

Blen L. Corby, age 74, of 1707 Lester Harris Rd., Johnson City, died Saturday, January 14, 2006, at her residence. She was a native of Jersey City, New Jersey, but had lived most of her life in Johnson City. Mrs. Corby was the daughter of the late Frank T. Jancarek and Blen Bryant Jancarek. She was retired, having taught second grade at Unicoi Elementary in Unicoi County. She attended Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Corby was a graduate of Greeneville High School and East Tennessee State University. She was preceded in death by her husband, Authur Jim Corby, in 1989. Survivors are a son, Authur Jim Corby Jr.; a daughter, Jennifer Jan Corby, both of Johnson City; three sisters, Joy Fuches, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Johnette Jones, Fall Branch, Joanne Sutphin, Johnson City; two brothers, Frank Jancarek, Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Melvin J. Jancarek, Pennsylvania; two granddaughters, Heather Amberyn Corby and Jessica Jean Corby, both of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews. Services for Mrs. Corby will be held at Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel at 8:00 PM Monday. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Paul Crowe will officiate. Family and friends will meet at Monte Vista on Tuesday at 2:00 PM for graveside services and burial.
