Bobby Gene Gross Sr.

August 16, 1952 — April 27, 2023

Bobby G. Gross Sr, 70, of Telford, Passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer on Thursday, April 27, 2023 surrounded by his children and grandsons at his daughters home.

Bobby was born to Fred and Anna Gross on August 16, 1952, in Johnson City. He was an extremely talented pipefitter who was very versatile and notorious for his ability to do whatever was put in front of him. He held a position at Fluor Daniels for many years, often switching employers and further displaying his versatility. He held the ability to travel wherever he needed to be, including his family along the way to Kansas, Indiana, and South Carolina, before returning to Johnson City to be with extended family around 1987.

Bobby was a beautiful soul who loved his family and the Lord, his wife Rhonda, his children and grandchildren. Bobby wasn't a frequent churchgoer, however was extremely close with God. Bobby was extremely patriotic, he never passed up on an opportunity for fourth of July fireworks or barbeques. He was the funniest man in the room wherever he went, you couldn't help but laugh around him. He loved Billy Idol and couldn't have made it more clear, giving his own personal in-house performances all the way up to the end.He loved his special girls Penny and Sassy; they may have looked like yorkies but he certainly spoiled them like his children.

A special thank you to Dawn Gross for always being kind and attentive and Carolyn Ricker for everything she has done for Bobby. To Carol Enriquez for her complete selflessness and devout friendship to Bobby, and willingness to do whatever needed to be done to ensure his and his daughters comfort. Last but not least, thank you DJ Lyons for being everything Bobby needed him to be, always willing to do the many things most adults aren't able to do, free of judgement and adding a smile. Along with DJ's mother and the daughter of Bobby, they couldn't have been more honored to spend his final months with him ensuring his comfort and loving him unconditionally.

Bobby will truly be missed. Life will never be the same, but to say that we aren't all thrilled he isn't suffering anymore would be selfish. Bobby deserves every bit of peace he now gets to experience.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Anna Gross, and the love of his life, soulmate, and wife, Rhonda Gross.

Bobby is survived by his three children: Bobby Gross Jr (TN), Billy Gross and wife Lynnette (KY), Misty Gross and her husband Douglass Enriquez (TN); many grandchildren and great grandchildren, including: DJ and Tristun Lyons (TN), and Kerra Gross (TN) as well as the mother of Kerra Gross, Dawn Gross, (TN).
