Bobby Joe Scott

Bobby Joe Scott, age 77, 510 Lane Hollow Road, Watauga, TN, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at his residence. He was a native of Sullivan County, TN and lived in Watauga most of his life. He was the son of the late Irene Feathers Scott and Carl Scott, Sr. Mr. Scott was a retired operator at Stedman Construction Company. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Scott was preceded in death by: his wife, Nadine Mummert Scott, and two brothers, J. L. Scott, and Carl Scott, Jr. Survivors include: two sons, Randy and Ray Scott, of the home; four daughters, Peggy Cornish, and her husband, James, of Watauga, Barbara George, and her husband, Donavan, of Bluff City, Donna Shaver, of Bristol, TN, and Shirley Landry, of the home; five grandchildren, April Hodges, and her husband, Josh, of Piney Flats, Rachel Earnest, and her husband, Corey, of Watauga, Amber George, of Bluff City, and Darrell and Bobby Shaver, both of Bristol, TN; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Townsend and Andrew Hodges, both of Piney Flats; five brothers, Herman Scott, and his wife, Beatrice, of Pennsylvania, Jackson Scott, and his wife, Melissa, of Watauga, Bill Scott, and his wife, Helen, of Piney Flats, Gene Scott, and his wife, Mary, of Watauga, Ray Scott, and his wife, Priscilla, of Piney Flats; two sisters, Patsy Bupp, of Florida, and Brenda Scott, of Watauga; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Bobby Joe Scott will be conducted 8:00 PM Wednesday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday from Scott Family Cemetery, Watauga. Family and friends are asked to meet at Morris-Baker by 10:30 AM Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery for those services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
