Mr. Bobby Stinson, 81, 1406 Merrywood Drive, Johnson City died Thursday May 28, 2009 in the North Side Hospital. Mr. Stinson was a life long resident of Johnson City. He was the son of the late Cecil and Kathleen Naff Stinson. In addition to his parents his wife, Jewel Stinson in 2002; one brother, Harold Stinson, also preceded him in death. Mr. Stinson was a brick mason and a member of the Berea Free Will Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Johnson City Masonic Lodge 486. Survivors include: one son, Robert 'Boyd'? Stinson and his wife Arlene of Johnson City; one daughter, Carla Maiden and her husband Mickey of Fredericksburg, Virginia; one brother, Charles Stinson of Shreveport, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Wesley Stinson of Elizabethton, Brian Stinson of Knoxville, Derrick Maiden and Jason Maiden both of Fredericksburg, Virginia; four great grandchildren, Megan Stinson, Josh Stinson, McKinley Stinson and Noah Stinson. The family would like to send out a special thank you to all the nurses in the ICU unit of North Side Hospital for their care and support. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Berea Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 2415 Sinking Creek Road, Johnson City Tn. 37604. The funeral service for Mr. Bobby Stinson will be conducted at 8 PM Monday June 1, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Jerry Stout will officiate. Jerry Barnett will provide music. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday in the Roselawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be: Shawn Stinson, Wesley Stinson, Brian Stinson, Derek Maiden, Jimmy Keene and Jimmy Neeley. Honorary pallbearer will be: Jason Maiden. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 AM Tuesday to go in procession. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM Monday prior to the service.
