Bonnie Adeline Godsey Cox, 85, passed away on Monday, September 08, 2008 at her home in Johnson City following a lengthy illness.She was the co-founder of Gene Cox Mechanical Contractors and served as vice president and secretary until her retirement in 1982.She was a member of East Watauga Avenue Baptist Church and served in many positions during her early life.Born in Johnson City, TN she was a daughter of the late Emory G. Godsey and the late Louise Guffey Godsey. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and her loving husband of 59 and ½ years, Eugene 'Gene'? Cox.The family would like to say speci8al thanks to Dr. Rachel Monderer, Medical Center Hospice and also to her caregivers for their kindness and support.Survivors include five children, Gary E. Cox and his wife, Phyllis of Asheville, NC, Lillian R. Babb and her husband, Rev. Claude Babb, of Johnson City, Brenda C. Treadway and her husband, Sonny of Johnson City, Donald L. Cox and his wife, Sherry of Johnson City and Eddie B. Cox and his wife Sandra of Johnson City; sixteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, a cousin and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 8:00 pm in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, September 12, 2008 from the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 am Friday and proceed to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Rev. Bret Jones, Allen Goodman, Skipper DePew, Rev. Joey Murdock, Luke Whitson , Mike Saults and Phil Williams. O
